Course Overview

 

Year 1 and 2 (16 months industrial training, 8 months language training)

 

1. Theory, taught in-class:

Mathematics, physics, technical drawings, material sciences, machine elements, production technology, automation and information technology, material tables, standards, how to conduct and manage projects.

 

2. Workshops (practical hands-on training conducted in our technical training facility):

  1. Fundamentals of project work

  2. Project work as an integral activity and systematic problem solving

  3. Development of projects in phases using the example of the lifting tool

  4. Changed process models in project work

  5. Documenting technical processes

 

3. German Language, levels A1 - B1 / B2

Intensive German classes including general language (A1-A2) and technical language (B1/B2)
The language training at Atticus Academy is conduct in line with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standards and training materials used by the Goethe Institut.
It consists of intensive classes of 30 hours per week (weekdays) for 4 months per year after completion of the 8-months technical training, as outlined above.
Concurrent to the technical training we are phasing in the language with 1.5-hour language classes, 5 times a week.


Duration: 8 months (over 2 years, i.e., 4 month per year) + introductory lessons concurrent to technical training in first year


 

Year 3 - (12 months)

Takes place in Germany, paid internship, specialization in a selected field.
Instruction language: German
Trainees receive a stipend of 1200€ / month from the employer during their internship (social security deductions in line with German labour law apply)

After graduation: employment options in Germany referred by our partner organisation.

Qualification issued by the German Ministry of Health.

Diploma in General Nursing, issued by “WBS Schulen GmbH”, an authorized agent of the German Ministry of Health. With this, graduates may apply to become a registered nurse in Germany.

Course Overview:

 

Year 1 and 2 (16 months)

  • Introduction to nursing

  • Supporting people to be self-sufficient with exercise

  • Reflecting on first care experiences - communication oriented

  • Promoting health and acting preventively

  • Provide nursing support to people in curative processes and strengthen patient safety

  • Safety in acute situations

  • Rehabilitation nursing in an interprofessional team

  • Accompanying people in critical life situations and in the last phase of life

  • Supporting people in shaping their lives in a real-world-oriented manner

  • Promoting development and health in childhood and adolescence in nursing situations

  • Provide person-centred, real-world-based support to people with mental health problems and cognitive impairments.

 

Practical training conducted in our in-house nursing lab and Dubai hospitals
This takes place concurrently to theory training during year 1 and 2.

It covers intensive German language training and various aspects of work-life in Germany and enables participants to manoeuvre Germany and their employment there successfully.

Intensive German classes including general language (A1-A2) and nursing language or technical language (B1/B2) respectively.

For our vocational students these classes form an integral part of our training.

However, the German language classes can also be booked by external parties wishing to receive intensive 4 months or 8 months German language training. If you fall into this category, please contact us. For outside parties course fees are 50AED / hour, pre-payable monthly.

You should be availble for at least 4 months full-time, so that you can attain A2 level.
